A look back at the national advocacy workshop on the cocoa pricing mechanism in Côte d’Ivoire

On April 23, 2026, Solidaridad West Africa, alongside the Ivorian Platform for Sustainable Cocoa (PICD) and the European Union (European Union ), brought together more than 130 actors in the sector for a national advocacy workshop.

The aim was to improve the pricing mechanism to ensure a decent income for producers and strengthen the sustainability of the sector.

Producers, cooperatives, authorities and the private sector shared their proposals for a more equitable, transparent and resilient system, focusing on:
✔️ A remunerative floor price.
✔️ Increased transparency of the system.
✔️ Taking into account the realities on the ground.
