Solidaridad West Africa

Supported by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the initiative promotes #climatesmart #agriculture solutions, improved water management, and practical approaches to sustainable IVS development and management.

Speaking during the training in Moyamba district, Project Lead, Aminata Bah, noted that the sessions are aimed at strengthening farmers’ capacity in climate-smart agriculture, water conservation methods, and the effective use of agricultural inputs provided under the project.

A representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in Moyamba District, Engineer Musa Koroma, highlighted that the IVS approach aligns with government efforts to encourage inland valley swamp rice production as a way of increasing yields and improving food security across Sierra Leone.

Through the RFaNS IV project, Solidaridad continues to support efforts to strengthen local rice production systems, improve resilience to climate change, and promote sustainable farming practices among smallholder farmers.
